Maldives Gas Pvt Ltd (MGPL), established in October 1999, is a public-private partnership between the State Trading Organization (PLC) and Champa Oil and Gas Pvt Ltd. It has become a key player in supplying LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) cooking gas in the Maldives, holding approximately 65% of the market share. Over time, the company has expanded its offerings to include industrial gases and medical oxygen, achieving significant milestones in its operations. One such milestone is the implementation of Luifulhi, an advanced technology that ensures the safe handling of all quantities of LPG. This development has further solidified MGPL’s reputation and commitment to delivering exceptional services to its clients.
MGPL’s primary storage and manufacturing facility in K.Thilafushi boasts an impressive array of structures, including an LPG sphere tank, LPG bullet tanks, an oxygen generator plant, a nitrogen generator plant, and an argon plant. These facilities enable MGPL to store and produce a wide range of gases efficiently. To ensure easy accessibility for customers, MGPL has strategically positioned sales centers in Male, Villimale, Hulhumale, and Thilafushi.
In pursuit of its strategic objectives, MGPL has established medical oxygen plants at three key locations: Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Hulhumale’ Orange Hiyaa, and Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. These plants play a crucial role in meeting the community’s medical oxygen requirements. MGPL maintains a fleet of pickups and a marine vessel to ensure efficient product delivery. The company remains committed to its objective of delivering products within 60 minutes, prioritizing prompt and reliable service. The upkeep of cylinders is another area of focus for MGPL, ensuring that customers receive high-quality and safe products.
